I hated how I had been demoted from my position as a Luna by my mate, Dax. It was something I never anticipated. After three years of unfiltered love and devotion, it took just a night for all that to crumble.

As I walked through the pack’s territory tending to the sick as that was my duty as the Luna, I heard some jeers and gossips and silent whispers of some of the werewolves within the territory.

“I heard that she is no longer the Luna.” One said as I walked past her.

“Same here, the rightful Luna has returned. Another concurred

“But what happened and why was there a sudden turn around in the Alpha’s house?” Another asked.

“I guess our Luna already ran out of luck with the moon goddess. One replied and burst into a silent laughter.

I walked up to them. “do you not have anything better to do?” I asked them.

One cleared his throat while the other two dispersed in opposite directions. I kept looking at the one that just sat down after clearing his throat. He did not move.

“What? It is not like you control us anymore.” He commented and remained where he was.

I scoffed and simply walked away in shame back to the pack house. I walked straight to our bedroom, Dax’s and I, and then sat on the bed and just cried my eyes out.

That night, after I had just stayed in the room all day thinking about my situation, I decided to come out and just continue living normally as I usually have been. I needed to get my mind off the jeers and gossip. I was who I was and so what they say about me, shouldn’t matter to me.

I got into the kitchen and met my staff there, “please, I will be cooking tonight.” I said to her with a smile on my face.

I was finally ready to just let things go.

“But ma’am…” She wanted to complain but then I raised my palm and she immediately understood and walked out of the kitchen to allow me to do what I wanted to.

I prepared a nice meal and then took it up to the room where Alexa was kept. I wanted to let go of all the negativity and just be nice to her.

I saw her laying on the bed, looking out the window,

“Are you hungry?” I asked politely but she did not reply.

She sat up and just walked into the bathroom face.

She was really slowly getting on my nerves with the rubbish that she was spewing from her mouth.

She scoffed and walked up to me, “I really do not understand what you’re still doing here in this pack house. I believe Dax had clearly spelt where you belong. We both can’t be Luna. There is only one Luna and that is me, unfortunately for you.”

She added.

She then gestured to the whole of the room, “maybe at some point, all this belonged to you. But now that I am back, I would suggest that you wake up from your dreams and realize that the rightful owner is back. Dax belongs to me. And you…” She said and pointed her finger to me,

“Belong with the rest of the staff and maids or better still, you belong away from this territory. You are not one of us, leave already. You and that bastard inside of you.”

I had heard enough. She crossed the line and I was going to make sure that I showed it to her. I landed a hot slap across her face before I could stop myself. She held her cheek in shock.

You have said all the trash that you wanted to. I kept quiet about it all but insulting my child, that is what I will not keep quiet about.” I said, angrily.

“I knew that you were bad news the moment I saw you walking like a complete vagabond that night.” I scoffed.

“You have been gone for so long already, why not return to where you suddenly crawled out from. It is you who is misplaced around here.” I said with sarcasm.

She laughed, “you must feel like you’re above right now. Just you wait” She threatened and left.

I was so shocked by her actions but I tried to calm down after she left. I was prepared to relay all what transpired between us to my mate once he returned, so he’d get to see the true color of this new woman who he’s planning on making his Luna.

Later that night, Alexa walked in with a very furious looking Dax 1 opened my mouth in confusion but before I could to say something, his hand whooshed through the air and landed on my cheek in a loud slap.

I staggered from the unexpectedness and shock. He had never hit me before so I never ever imagined that I’d one day be in this situation

“Why?” I whispered through the tears coursing down my cheeks.

“How dare you raise your hands on your Luna. On my mate. He yelled at me in anger, causing me to flinch.

But Drax, she insulted our child. I tried to reason with him.

“That is enough.” He yelled.

“I do not care about all that you are saying. No harm must come to Alexa. She is the future of this pack and it’s Luna.” He said, cold-heartedly.

“How about me Dax?” I asked him.

“What am I to you now?”

He did not reply. The next words that came out of his mouth broke me completely.

“Go into the bedroom right this instant and get all your belongings out of there at once. You will stay in the other bedroom beside ours. That’s your punishment for laying a hand on Alexa. I do not want you to ever hurt her. Should you try this again, you might get thrown out of the pack house. Once he was done spewing, before I could fully process what had just happened, he whirled around and exited the house.

I could see the sheer joy Alexa had written all over her face and it broke my heart even more. “How would Dax be this cruel or is this really who he is?” I thought to myself through my pain

I had already lost everything because of her, including the love of my life, Dax. He lied about everything. About his promises of love and affection. He lied about the fact that he was going to protect my child and I, that he was gonna keep loving me despite Alexa’s presence. That was what hurt the most. He betrayed me and keeps doing it without bothering about my feelings.

I went to bed with a broken heart that night.

The next day, I woke to hear that he had left on a journey. He did not even bother to tell me about it. How convenient for him and his new Luna, Alexa
