Chapter 783

"There's a situation!"

"Quickly, defend!"

"Protect the villagers!"

Chaos erupted as the battle began, filling the area with the sound of gunfire and the smell of blood. Intense firefights broke out immediately.

Some villagers, unable to escape in time, found themselves caught in the crossfire, desperately covering their heads and trying to flee.

Bullets flew mercilessly, and innocent villagers were struck down, falling lifeless to the ground. The sound of artillery and smoke filled the air, mingling with the stench of blood.

"Waaah "

Children, barely two or three years old, stood helplessly in the midst of the chaos, crying out for their mothers in fear.

"Protect the children!"

Special forces quickly scooped up the children, shielding them with their bodies and rushing them to safety.

The Allied forces were well-prepared but encountered unexpected resistance from the Birkham peacekeeping troops. Realizing they were outmatched in both weaponry and combat skill, the Allied troops ordered a retreat.

The Birkham soldiers, bound by international agreements, couldn't pursue them. Their mandate was to protect the people, not engage in offensive operations without proper authorization.

The battle was over within ten minutes, but the village lay in ruins. Houses were riddled with bullet holes, some still burning. The ground was strewn with bodies and wounded villagers. Women and children wept beside the dead.

In these war-torn times, survival was uncertain.

Nash stepped down from a truck, his tall figure dressed in a camouflage uniform with military ranks on it. He wore protective goggles and carried a long gun, exuding an air of authority. His stern face surveyed the devastated village with a practiced eye.

He gave his orders coldly, "Clean up the site and help rebuild the villagers' houses!"

"Yes, sir!"

The soldiers immediately set to work, a routine task for them in foreign lands.

Suddenly, a soldier ran up with urgent news. "There's a school that collapsed over there. There might be teachers and students trapped inside!"

Nash's brows furrowed. "Send a rescue team immediately!"

A small team raced to the school's location, finding it reduced to rubble. They could hear children crying amidst the debris. "Someone's alive!"

They began digging frantically. Underneath, Sean was protected by Nina, the person he had despised. He cried and called for help, feeling Nina's blood soaking through his clothes.

Desperation filled his voice as he shouted, "We're here... Please save our teacher... She's bleeding a lot... She can't die!"

The soldiers outside heard the cries and dug faster, reassuring the children, "Don't cry, kids, we're coming to get you!"

Soon, they unearthed the survivors. When Nina was pulled from the rubble, her arms and legs were spread out, using her body to shield the children. She was unconscious, her head bleeding profusely, her face covered in dust and blood.

The children were unharmed, thanks to Nina's quick thinking in using a desk as a shield. As they pulled her out, the children wailed, shaking her hand, "Teacher, wake up, you can't die!"

The soldiers gently pulled the children away, checked Nina's pulse, and found she was still breathing.

"She's alive! Get her to medical care, quickly!"

When Nina regained consciousness, her head felt heavy and foggy. She opened her eyes to find herself surrounded by cots in a military tent, the ceiling above her a familiar army green.

She sat up quickly.
