Chapter 1705
Chapter 1705:
Harlee intended to settle her scores with Nola personally, so Rhys planned only to safeguard her until her schemes were fulfilled.
Five minutes later, Harlee breezed into the study, her presence as cool as the room’s decor. She glanced at Rhys, curled her lips into a smirk, and settled gracefully onto the lounger.
She then beckoned Rhys with a flick of her finger, her chin propped in her hand, and declared nonchalantly, “You lost.”
Rhys paused and then continued toward her, masking his turbulent emotions behind a look of mild distress.
“What if it’s one month and one day?” He hoped to extend their debate.
Harlee fell silent for a moment before her lips twisted into a mischievously sardonic smile.
“Heh, Rhys, you’re becoming more and more shameless.”
Since their marriage and the birth of Felix, Rhys’s once-imposing CEO demeanor had softened, replaced by a more playful, almost flirty side.
The people downstairs were used to it. Whenever Rhys and Harlee were together, their affectionate banter was expected.
Rhys smiled, picked up the watermelon juice, and crouched beside her on the lounger. He teased, drawing out his words, “In front of you, babe, I can afford to be even more shameless.”
Harlee tilted her head, lifted her foot, and playfully kicked him away with a look of feigned annoyance.noveldrama
“Such a tease.”

Unbeknownst to her, she looked incredibly alluring to Rhys at that moment.
Rhys caught her foot and leaned in close. His voice dropped to a seductive whisper, and their breaths mingled in the charged air.
“Believe me, I can be far naughtier. Want to see?”
Harlee reached up, her hand finding his neck. Her tone was commanding yet devoid of warmth.
“I’ve never cared for mischief, haven’t you learned?”
Rhys’s robust frame tensed at her words. Wasn’t this flirtatious game to her liking? He had even researched extensively online for this!
Rhys locked eyes with Harlee, his look deep and carrying a slight, inexplicable hurt—like a puppy fearing abandonment. He knew Harlee was teasing him, but he’d always engage in her games. After all, he had concluded that only by playing the shameless or pitiful card could he perhaps distract her from their bet.
Harlee’s mouth curled into a half-smile. Rhys was becoming increasingly adept at charming her. His pitiful act was so convincing that it almost made her want to pounce on him!
Without a second thought, Harlee acted on her impulse. She grabbed Rhys by the shoulders, swiftly flipping him over to pin him beneath her. A playful grin spread across her face as she leaned in close, her voice sultry as she said, “Rhys, I really like this side of yours.”
Rhys’s eyes widened as they locked with Harlee’s. A wave of happiness washed over him. It had been a long time since Felix’s birth that he’d heard such affectionate words from her. He wrapped his arms around her, emphasizing every word as he said, “I love you, Lee, forever and always, just you.”
As Rhys finished his declaration, the study door flew open. Robbie, Aldrich, and Judson burst in, their laughter filling the room.
Their eyes widened in astonishment at the sight before them—Harlee atop Rhys. What the hell? What was going on here? Was this how Harlee and Rhys always interacted, with Harlee leading and Rhys happily following? Had they just uncovered a hidden dynamic?
Robbie’s face lit up with a mischievous grin, ready to comment, but his words were quickly stifled as the others clamped their hands over his mouth and dragged him back.
“Hehe, Harlee, Rhys, just pretend we’re not here,” Aldrich chuckled, as they all took cautious steps backward, wishing they could flee without causing a disturbance. They knew witnessing such a scene could spell trouble.
