Chapter 280
Janice couldn't believe that the name Shirley Olson was worth an extra 500 thousand dollars just for her handiwork. But to Jodie, the Manns' golden child, it was nothing. She casually gave Janice that amount of money like it was pocket change.
Janice didn't accept the money, nor did she return it right away. She decided to send it back with a wedding gift when Jodie got married.
She wasn't about to use the name of Shirley Olson as a reason to charge outrageous prices. That would throw the market into chaos and ruin her reputation.
Janice wasn't the type to chase money at all costs.
Suddenly appearing behind her, Edward said, "Getting this much money first thing in the morning-looks like you're going to hit it big this year. Don't forget about me when you do, okay?"
Unfazed by Laura's teasing looks, he wrapped his arms around Janice from behind her chair. The bank notification was right there on her phone, so he naturally saw it.
Janice looked up, smiling. "Then you'd better behave and not make me mad."
"I've never made you mad," Edward replied.
And that was true-he really hadn't.
Laura went to the kitchen, leaving just the two of them at the dining table.
"You slept in today," Janice said. It was already 9:30 am by the time he woke up. Edward shot her a glance. "I need to recharge too, you know. Otherwise—"
"Shut up!" Janice said quickly, blushing as she put a fried egg onto his plate. "Just eat."
By 10:10 am, they left the villa together.
Sarah had been staying at a villa in a different area for days, but she still hadn't met the owner. While picturing which wealthy heir or big shot might live here, she arrogantly ordered a maid to give her a massage.
The maid, still holding Sarah's leftover fruit platter, said, "Ms. Fitzgerald, we're here to take care of your basic needs, not provide spa services."
"Well, the massage therapist is off today. If you don't do it, who will?" Sarah shot back, clearly annoyed.
She was convinced the houseowner
had to be interested in her. Why else would he keep her around? She
might just be the future lady of the house If so, all the maids should be showing her more respect and deference, not acting clueless.
"Fine, if you don't want to do it, just leave!" Sarah sneered.
The maid couldn't hold back any longer. "Excuse me, Ms. Fitzgerald, but the only person who can fire me is my employer. You're just a guest." With that, she turned and walked away.
Fuming, Sarah hurled the half-eaten apple at the back of the maid's head. The maid cried out while holding the back of her head as she doubled over in pain.
Sarah crossed her arms with a sneer. "You're just a servant. What's the big deal? Clean up the fruit and bring warm water for me to soak my feet in."

After putting up with days of Sarah's overbearing demands, the maids were at their breaking point. Even Zedrick hadn't treated them this badly They silently prayed for someone to come and teach Sarah a lesson-she was unbearable.
Just then, a maid's glare caught Sarah's attention.
"What are you glaring at?" Sarah snapped, her tone dripping with arrogance. "Gotnoveldrama
a problem with that? Well, too bad! I'll be the boss soon!"
The maids could only seethe with suppressed anger.
"Go get warm water for my feet-now!" she ordered. With that, she leaned back
on the couch, closed her eyes, and waited to be served.
She craved good food, beauty treatments, and relaxing foot soaks, determined to stay gorgeous and impress the villa's owner even more.
Once she reached the top of the social ladder, she would love to see if Simon Still dared to look down on her. By then, Simon and Helena would be at her mercy. Sarah possessed the same ruthless backstabbing nature as Simon; it ran in her blood.
Meanwhile, a maid at the doorway called out, "Ms. Burnett?"
What do you think?
