Chapter 229
The next day arrived swiftly.
Without delay, she personally went to register the training institute.
As soon as Edward found out, he made a few calls to fast-track the process.
Janice had expected at least a week of waiting, but to her surprise, the business license arrived in just three days.
That was fast.
Her first thought was Edward. During lunch, she headed straight to his office and knocked on the door.
Inside, Edward was already in a meeting. Upon seeing her, the visitor immediately stood up. "Ms. Smith, it's an honor to meet you!"
Janice smiled politely and shook his hand. "Please don't mind me. Continue with your conversation."
"We're done," Edward said quickly. "Come over here."
"Well then, Mr. Moore, I'll be on my way."
"I'll walk you out," Edward offered.
The man hurriedly responded, "No, no! Please don't trouble yourselves! Continue with your work."
Once he left, Edward said, "He's a supplier from Solterra."
Janice stood with her hands behind her back, watching him closely. "You don't look too happy."
Edward's expression remained neutral. "I'm fine."
"No, you're not." Janice leaned in and lightly tapped his cheek. "Is something bothering you?"
Edward leaned back in his chair, meeting her gaze with an air of scrutiny.
She froze and quickly blurted out, "I haven't been in touch with Simon at all!"
Edward remained silent, his face giving nothing away. After a moment, he finally said, "Why do you always insist on handling everything alone instead of asking me for help?"
She had gone ahead and registered the training institute on her own. Did she think he was just here to watch from the sidelines?
Janice instantly caught on to what he meant. "Oh, you're talking about that? I
didn't think it was a big deal. I figured if I followed the standard procedure, it would eventually be approved."
"It wouldn't have."
"Why not?"
"Greenfield City has become a hub for crochet, and many are rushing to open training institutes. In the past week alone, over 400 applications have been submitted. The city is now limiting registrations.
If Edward hadn't intervened, Janice's application might have never been approved.
Letting out a sigh, she swiftly leaned in and wrapped her arms around him. "I had
no idea. Thank you so much, Mr. Moore!"
Edward gave her a brief glance.
After a moment of contemplation,
she tilted her head and placed a
quick kiss on his lips. "From now on, I promise I'll come to you first whenever I need help-if you don't mind me bothering you."
"I'd actually prefer if you bothered me more."
If she insisted on handling everything herself, then what was his role here?
Realizing that Edward was genuinely
upset, Janice quickly tried to make it
right. "How about I treat you to
tonight? I can finally eat
want!"
"Are your diet restrictions over?"
"Almost. There's just a day left, so it won't make a difference!" Janice stood up.
"It's settled, then. Make sure to leave work on time!"
With that, she turned and left the financial building.noveldrama
It was 6:00 pm.
In high spirits, Janice headed out to meet Edward for dinner.
...
Meanwhile, Simon was on the verge of losing it. He had just gotten a call from the medical center.
"What did you say? Say that again?"
He was in total disbelief.
Standing beside him, Elsie was just as shocked. She was unsure if she had
misheard the caller from where she stood.
What do you think?
