Bride To Be Not Me (Janice and Simon)

Chapter 151

"She's gone?"

Simon, who was at Fitzgerald Residence, frowned as he listened to the hospital

staff on the phone.

Amelia had vanished.

She was penniless and seriously ill. Where could she possibly go?

Did she run away?

That wouldn't do.

She still owed him money-a lot of money.

Without wasting a second, Simon ordered his men to track her down.

As the year-end approached, he was running out of options. Funds were drying up, and he didn't dare show his face at the company anymore.

The seamstresses were collectively demanding their salaries, and on top of that, he still had to repay Janice's loan. Where the hell was he supposed to find that kind of money?

"Simon!" Helena's panicked voice echoed from downstairs before she stormed into his room. "Those seamstresses are at our doorstep!"

Simon's head was about to blow up."Lock the gate! Let them wait all they want. It's freezing out there. I highly doubt that they can stand outside forever!"

"Have you called Janice yet?" Helena urged, "Just say a few sweet words. She'll help you!"

But at the mere thought of pleading with Janice, Simon...

Just as he was torn between frustration and hesitation, his phone rang.

"Hello?"

"Mr. Fitzgerald, we found something."

"Speak."

"The winner of this year's Winter Tournament is a piece from the Prosper Stitch Group. And from what we've gathered, the crotchet was personally crafted by Ms. Smith."

Janice?

It was Janice?noveldrama

How could she possibly master such a complex and ancient crochet technique? Simon gripped his phone tightly, his fingers trembling ever so slightly. For years, he had never seen her produce such an excellent piece. Had she been hiding her true abilities all along?

"Alright. I understand."

After hanging up, he stood there in complete silence.

Was Janice really about to rise to international fame just as she had promised? If she were to get placed in the upcoming global competition, wouldn't her reputation skyrocket? The more he thought about it the more jealousy gnawed at his insides.

Why hadn't she been this talented before?

If she had always been this capable, things wouldn't have turned out so badly between them!

Would she even agree if he backed down and asked for her help now? But then again, they had been together for seven years. Edward could hardly beat their history together. That thought gave him a sense of reassurance.

Holding onto that silver of confidence, Simon grabbed his phone. He walked to his bedroom window and looked outside. The seamstresses were still at the gates, demanding their wages.

Simon ignored them and dialed Janice's number. The ringing sound made his heartbeat accelerate.

...

Janice had just finished chatting with Edward when her phone buzzed.

"Hello?"

"It's me. Simon."

Janice paused. Her eyes flickered to the unfamiliar number on the screen. Sure enough, it was one of Simon's alternative phone numbers.

"Are you calling to repay your debt? Just transfer the money to the designated account on time."

"Janice, wait. Just listen to me,"

Simon pleaded, his voice laced with urgency. "Amelia has been lying to me all along. She manipulated me into misunderstanding you. I never wanted to push you away. I was just under too much pressure back then, and I... I just..."

He hesitated before finally lowering his pride completely. "Janice, can you forgive me? Let's start over. After New Year's, let's prepare for our wedding. How about

it?"

Janice's eyelashes fluttered when she heard those words.

In all their years together, Simon had never spoken to her with such humility.
