Betrothed To The Mafia Lord

Chapter 369

Chapter 369

Luca’s POV

I felt like I had gone back in time in a way, since I was doing what I used to before– before Sofia and I

had gotten emotionally and physically closer.

I was currently hovering over her, watching her as she sleeps.

She looked so peaceful right now, with her mouth slightly parted go puff out air every few seconds. The

sight made my chest ache.

After Sofia fell asleep in the music, I continued to play the piano, because it brought me peace in a

way.

There was once a time where the piano was one of my outlet, although that changed when Armani left

for Los Angeles.

More like I sent him to Los Angeles.

The fact that my father had somehow found the time to make sure Armani and I learnt how to play a

few music instruments amidst the entire Mafia trailing while growing up was crazy to me, but father

made it work out in a way, and it did work out.

He had claimed he wanted us to master those things, as well as multiple languages in order to be like

some sort of jack of all trades kind of person.

I reached out and brushed Sofia’s hair out of her face and after a few moments, I pushed out of the

bed.

I took a bath quick shower after that, and when I returned back to the bed, I found myself hesitating for

a moment.

I contemplated about sleeping in the same bed with Sofia or heading into another room to sleep, but I

decided to slide into the covers and still sleep in here.

Not because I was deserving to sleep in the same bed with her after what I had done– because I

frankly do not even deserve her, but because I knew it was only going to make her worry some more

should she realize that I hadn’t sleep in here tonight, which was undoubtedly going to make me feel

even worse.

With a small sigh, I shifted on the bed and tried to find a good spot. Today was one of those days since

the unfortunate day I had gotten it down with Alexa, whereby I was sleeping without cuddling with Sofia

and holding her in my arms as I slept.

After that incident had happened, I cuddled with her until she fell asleep and then I’d roll away like my

hands were on fire. A few days later and I couldn’t bring myself to do that, choosing to or do pretend

like I didn’t notice that Sofia wants some sort of physical contact with me before she falls asleep, and

through the night.

That was exactly why I had been relived that she had fallen asleep in the music room tonight. At least

she didn’t have to go through the ordeal of wanting to be physical with me, something which I couldn’t

provide access to for now.

I exhaled a long breath and turned on the bed, and it wasn’t long before I fell asleep.

*******

I wasn’t blind.

I saw how genuinely excited Sofia was about the launching of

her arts thingy, and I was undoubtedly worried about her safety,

because a lot of things could go wrong on that day.

The fact that she was doing this was already spreading through the

mafia, and how that even fallen into the hands of the media wasn’t a shock to me any longer, at this

point.

That’s exactly why I’m already sure that a that a lot of people were undoubtedly going to be showing up

on that day. Because, apart from Sofia's fans online who were excited for the launch– which are

insanely a whole lot of people, a lot of people in the mafia were curious because they wanted to see if

she was really talented, and what the entire fuss was about.

It's very rare for the wife of a mafia lord to be allowed to do something like this, and I was already sure

that a bunch of rumors of him growing soft because of his wife was already

spreading around.

It doesn’t matter how many people say something, or what those media people make up online.

All I was really concerned about was that no one was going to dare say a thing to my face about all

their stupid rumors.

The issue about Romeo and all his accomplices still haven’t been taken care of yet.

James had suggested we formulate a very clear and straightforward plan before making any move, and

that we were supposed to have a back up plan, in case the first one flops.

After I was done with work today, I had to meet up with James and the rest of the mafia underbosess to

finalize some more plans.

We are planning to make our move one of these days, all we need now is to wait for something else to

fall into our hands before we do that.

We couldn’t afford to do anything rash, because we’re not sure if those two other mafia lords didn’t

have other people they were working with, and we definitely needed to know all those details before

making any move.

After a few hours, the meeting ended and I dismissed everyone.

I was slumped in my chair, watching as James studied me through narrowed eyes.

Everyone has left except him.

Because of the memories persona now holds, I decided tonight’s meeting gets hosted in one of my

other clubs in the country. This one’s office of mine wasn’t all that furnished, but it would do just fine for

now.

“What?” I snapped, no longer being able to handle the scrunity. Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.

“You’re getting more miserable as the day goes by.” He stated and I scoffed.

“Thanks for pointing that out, captain obvious.”

James pestered me some more, but I ignored him. He had to leave at some point because he

apparently had an important schedule which he couldn’t miss and was even already running late for it.

It was a Saturday night so it’s probably one of his flings.

I bid him goodbye and promised him to be heading home soon since he kept pestering me to do just

that before he finally left.

I entered the office’s restroom and took in my facial expression, my eye bags red rimmed eyes.

I really do look miserable as fuck.
