My Heart Remembers Emily's POV

"Hi!"

I lifted my face and rolled my eyes when I saw him again. He's been following me for the past few days and I don't know what to do to him. He kept on saying that he's my stalker and that he fell in love with me at first sight. He's handsome, yes. He's fit to be my ideal man, yes. He's professional, yes. He's hot, fcking yes! But I don't know him. According to him, and to my doctor, I have amnesia and I confirmed it when I saw the year on the calendar. I forgot my present and maybe, Matt Foster is part of that present. "Frowning again? I told you that won't work on me. You're still beautiful in my eyes."

I looked away and rolled my eyes but I'm actually hiding my smile. I don't know. He's annoying but I always find myself hiding a smile while my heart is racing inside my chest.

I have amnesia. My mind doesn't remember him but my heart does. It races whenever he's near and It aches whenever he's not around. Actually, I remember him telling me that he's my boyfriend. I didn't believe him because I didn't know that I have amnesia.

I love him. I can feel it in my heart. However, I'm stuck in the past and the bitterness I felt when my fiance and my baby died is still here. It came back. The horror of that night came rushing back to me but I must admit that when Matt Foster is around, my mind completely forgets about that misery.

I just had my weekly check up today and I'm resting here in the cafeteria of the hospital. I want to believe that I'm actually resting, but I know in my heart that I stayed because I know that Matt will see me here since he's working here.

He smirked. "Have you eaten? I'm famished. Eat with me please."

I glared at him. "I'm not hungry and I'm leaving now."

I pulled myself up and was about to leave when he spoke.

"Argh! My back is hurting again. Should I just ride a taxi? I couldn't drive because I'm sleepy and hungry."

My lips parted as I slowly dropped my gaze on him again. He was massaging the back of his neck and indeed, he looked tired. His eyes were hooded. His hair was messy. The veins on his hands are so visible.

I felt something in my heart and I found myself sitting back to the place I left earlier. He lifted his face and looked at me. He looked shocked after seeing me. Genuinely shocked. He didn't look like he's teasing me either.

I cleared my throat. "What do you want to eat?"

His lips slowly curved into a beautiful smile. "Will you eat with me?"

I tilted my head. "Well...I suddenly felt hungry."

He pulled himself up. I looked up at him and saw his eyes twinkling with happiness. "What do you want to eat?"

I shrugged my shoulders. "Y-You choose for me."

He gave me a thumbs up before he ran to the counter. He doesn't look tired now. His eyes were full of joy and he looked energetic.

I swallowed hard and caressed my chest. My heart was racing so hard and fast inside. I feel like it will pop out of my chest anytime. God! Just how in love am I with him?

My Heart Remembers

"Is she Doctor Matt's sister?"

"No! I heard she's his patient."

"What? Her doctor is doctor Farah."

"Really? Is she seducing doctor Matt?"

"I'd bet my salary she is! She always comes here in the cafeteria after her weekly check-ups and I'm sure she's always waiting for doctor Matt to notice her."

My forehead creased. They're talking about me. Am I right?Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.

"She's not even pretty."

"I know right?"

I rolled my eyes before I pulled myself up. I saw Matt walking back towards our table carrying a tray of food. His eyes widened when he saw me walking towards the exit.

"Em! Emily!" He called my name but I didn't stop walking.

He must've thought I'm leaving but I'm not. I stopped in front of the table of the nurses that were talking. about me. They looked shocked and started elbowing each other when they felt my presence. One of them looked at me with a bitchy face. "Yes? You need something."

I crossed my arms. "I heard you talking about me."

She laughed sarcastically and dropped her spoon on the table. She crossed her arms too, copying me. We were. So?"

My brow shot up as I stared at her. "You're curious about my relationship with Matt, right?"

She smirked. "You're delusional for trying to get his attention-"

I slammed my palms on the table. The other nurses on the table jumped in shock and the bitchy woman who's trying to fight back looked threatened.

"Emily-"

I turned to Matt. "Why don't you tell this woman why we're together?"

His lips parted as he stared at me. He's still carrying the tray of food as he looks at me with a confused expression. "Huh?"

I stood straight and grabbed the tray he's carrying. I angrily put it on the table before I grabbed the neck of his lab gown and pulled him closer as I tilted my head. saw how his eyes widened even more and I heard gasps from the people watching.

I didn't care. I kissed him on the lips in front of everyone watching. I don't care if this is inappropriate. I don't even care if it will create rumors or what about him. I want to do this. I want to stake my claim on him because even without my memories, my heart remembers the beautiful feeling of being with him. My heart remembers his touch. My heart remembers his presence. My heart remembers him.

I pulled away, leaving Matt looking at me with a shocked face. I faced the nurses who were looking at me with horrified and angered expressions.

1 smirked evilly at them. "I know you're all dying to hold this man as close as you can. But I won't let you

because this man is mine. He's my boyfriend and I don't share! You got it?"

My Heart Remembers

I witnessed everything that happened in the cafeteria of the hospital. I came here to pick up Matt since I know that he's tired from his duty last night. I knew I'd see him in the cafeteria so I went straight here but what I witnessed made me realize something. The hate I feel towards Emily wasn't really hate. It's admiration. It's like. And I don't know when it started.

I swallowed hard as I watched Emily, who doesn't remember my brother, fight for him. It's as if she knows that his heart belongs to her and she's accepting him even without her memories.

I sucked my breath and balled fists. Why am I feeling this? Why did I end up liking my twin brother's girl? Why did I fcking like the woman I never thought I'd like? It was a stupid realization. It was absurd. Seeing my brother with the woman I like pains me but I know I don't have the right to like her. I made her like that. I stole her memories. I stole her chance of having a child and in spite of what happened...my twin brother forgave me. He forgave me and gave me another chance even if I was the reason why he lost his child and almost lost the woman he loves.

I turned my back and left the cafeteria. I went straight to the parking lot and slipped myself inside the passenger seat. I started the engine and drove away. I need to get her out of my system. I need a distraction.

I gritted my teeth and stopped in a day bar. I tilted my head side by side as I raked the crowd, looking for. someone who can distract me. Maybe if I find a woman different from her style, I'd forget her. Besides, my feelings are still shallow. I can still redeem myself before I completely lose my sanity.

"Hi, handsome!"

I looked at the woman who greeted me. My eyes stayed at her face for a few seconds before I looked away and walked towards the bar counter. I sat on the stool chair and ordered hard drinks. Or I can just drown myself in alcohol? "One margarita, please!"

I turned to the woman who sat next to me. She looked problematic. My eyes examined her whole. She doesn't look like she's a normal woman. She's wearing a short skirt, a piece of thin cloth as her top and her hair was curled. And obviously, she's a woman selling her body.

"Millie! Why did you do that?" A man who looked really angry grabbed her arm.

The woman named Millie glared at him. "I told you I fck but I don't do drugs. That old man is sick in the head!"

I gasped and she probably heard it because she briefly glanced my way.

"He paid you, Millie! We'll lost 1 million! God! You're crazy!"

"I don't care!"

"Then, pay me 1 million if you don't want this client."

"What?"

I pulled myself up and cleared my throat. Interfering isn't my thing, but I don't like this asshole's point.

I shot the asshole with cold stares. "I'll give you 5 million. Leave her alone."
