Chapter 5
Lilac was minding her own business, but at some point, she felt someone’s eyes on her, staring at her so intently and when she lifted her head, one of the men inside this stall fixed his eyes on her. His b*dy reeked of dominance and his dark eyes, a pair of bottomless pits.
He must be a lycan. His b*dy was so different from that of a werewolf and she had never seen this man before.
For the first time in a week, Lilac snapped out of her stupor, as her heart beat so fast. She was afraid of this man. She had never seen someone exuding such dominance, not even Alpha James, let alone Aiden.
Who was this man?
Lilac looked around her and tried to avoid eye contact with him, but even when she tried not to attract his attention, that man kept staring at her.
In the end, feeling very uncomfortable, Lilac thought about leaving, as she looked for money to pay for the drink, but in the next second, she closed her eyes in frustration. She didn’t have any money on her. She was so out of her mind when they left, it didn’t even occur to her that she would need any
Lilac grimaced, she stared at the old man, who was sitting at the corner, waiting for another customer.
But right at that time, she caught some movement from the corner of her eyes and saw that scary lycan actually stand up, before he approached her. Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
Lilac couldn’t help it, she stared at him blatantly. His b*dy was so huge! When he finally stopped in front of her, she almost felt like she was staring at a wall instead.
How could there be a creature so big as him? No wonder, werewolves had a hard time dealing with them. One lycan could easily fight at least five of their kind.
Lilac shrunk when the man sat in front of her, she literally hunched her back, as if she was afraid to be in the same space as him.
“Who are you? What do you want?” Lilac asked, she cowered.
“You are Lilac? The rumored Lilac?” The man asked, his voice was so dark and heavy, while he fixed his cyes on her. The way he stared at Lilac, made the woman feel afraid to even look at him directly, thus she resolved to staring at his big hand on the table instead.
“What rumors?” Lilac asked in a small voice, she looked very uncomfortable. She wanted to get away from him, but she felt like she lost all of her courage. How could there be someone so overbearing like this?
“The rumors about the rejected mate of the future alpha of this pack,” that man said calmly.
“What?” Lilac raised her head to look at him, but then she lowered her gaze again. She was shocked, but it was not enough for her to dare to be brazen with this man. “I don’t know about those rumors,” she said under her breath.
Was he an alpha? Was he the Lycan Alpha?
“W- who are you?” Curiosity got the better of her, as Lilac lifted her head and stared at his chin. Blue veins popped on his neck, which looked so strong, she wondered if a wood stick could break one if she used one
to hit him with.
The man didn’t answer her question immediately, but he stared at her for a brief second, as if he was deep in thought, before he replied to her. “Hunter.”
For Alpha James and Luna Jasmine, both of them were waiting for their only son, who had led their people to the battle along with the other leaders from the five packs to fight against the lycan.
Though they didn’t bring victory and the war ended with a peace treaty after Aiden managed to kill the Lycan Alpha, he was still the pride and joy of the Golden Claw pack.
The peace treaty itself was signed by the next in line of the Lycan Alpha. Hunter.
He was indeed the Alpha of the lycan pack. The son of the previous Alpha, who had been killed by Aiden. What did he want from her now? Revenge? Because Aiden had killed his father?
“Wh- what do you want from me?” Lilac stammered. Would he kill me?
Right at that time, someone entered the stall and his scent hit Lilac so hard, she subconsciously turned her head toward the source of this scent.
Her heart beat so fast to see Aiden again for the first time in a week. The last time she saw him was when they talked in the hallway.
“Lilac,” Aiden called her name and somehow, Lilac found it ridiculous as to how she still liked the way name rolled off his tongue..
The mate bond was so strong, but apparently not strong enough for Aiden to remain faithful.
her
“Fam glad to see you here,” Aiden said softly. He acted like what happened a week ago was nothing. Why would he smile at her like that and actually look so relieved when he saw her again?
Lilac said nothing, she stood up from her seat. She couldn’t care less about paying for her drink, she could always find this old man and pay him later, because right now, her mind was occupied with something else entirely, or it could be said, she wanted to escape Aiden desperately.
“Lilac,” Aiden called her again and the sound of longing in his voice irked her. “Let’s talk somewhere, okay?”
However, before Lilac could answer him, the Alpha of the lycan pack stood up, as he casually grabbed Lilac’s hand and pulled her to his side.
Standing next to him directly like this, Lilac felt so small compared to this lycan alpha. This fact distracted her a little bit.
“I am going to talk with her first, you can find another day for your business,” Hunter spoke sternly in his deep and husky voice, dismissing Aiden.
