Billionaire Add 31
Chapter 0031
Mia tensed at the mention of Zac's name, remembering how he had saved her before.
Fearing that Hunter might cause trouble for him, she quickly tried to explain. "Zac and I are completely innocent! It's not what you think!" Hunter narrowed his eyes, darkening as he sensed her urgency. His grip on her tightened slightly. "Oh? Afraid I'll go after him, are you?"
Just moments ago, she had been lost in the pleasure he gave, but the second Zac's name came up, it was like a switch flipped and her body went cold. She was clearly protective of Zac. Hunter's gaze darkened even more, seeing right through her. Mia froze under his intense stare, shaking her head to deny it. "No, that's not it at all!"
He could feel her body tense under his hands, his brows furrowing. "You're becoming quite the liar, Mrs. Jasper," his tone was laced with danger. The fact that she was even thinking about another man made his blood boil, though he hadn't stopped to consider why it angered him so much. "I'm not lying! Really, there's nothing going on between me and Zac!" Mia continued to protest. This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.
The coat Zac had lent her was still at Summer's place, and Mia thought she should send it for dry cleaning tomorrow before finding a way to return it.
She wondered if her family knew Zac was back. If they did, they would probably start tracking her again, leaving her no chance to meet with Zac. How would she ever return his coat then? Hunter's eyes remained fixed on her, filled with frustration. Lowering his head, he captured her lips in a rough, punishing kiss. It was as if he was trying to purge his anger.
"Hunter, you're hurting me!" Mia cried out, pulling away
Hunter's expression darkened. "You're not letting me touch you anymore? What's that supposed to mean?"
"It's not that!" Mia gasped. "You're being rough!"
Hunter's eyes narrowed, and just as he was about to say something, his gaze fell on her neek. A red mark stood out against her skin. The depth of the color indicated it was probably from the night before. Instantly, the memory of seeing Zac holding her on the highway flashed through his mind. Zac was holding her so tightly that he could only assume they hadn't been able to resist each other.
"How could Mia have the nerve to do this!" he thought, fuming with anger.
Hunter gripped her chin firmly, tilting her head to expose the mark even more clearly.
"We're still married, Mia. And you're already cheating on me?"
Mia felt a surge of frustration. "What are you even talking about?" When had she ever cheated on him?
Hunter's eyes burned with accusation. "Then who bit your neck?"
His words hit her like a cold slap. Instinctively, she tried to reach up and touch the mark, only to remember her hands were still restrained,
Her heart raced as the memory clicked into place. The mark had to be from one of those thugs last night.
The horror of what happened on the highway came flooding back, mixing with the fear she had pushed aside. She hadn't even realized the bite mark was still there. But explaining this to Hunter? He would never believe her. Her silence only fueled Hunter's rage. Seeing her hesitate, he took it as confirmation. His eyes darkened further, turning a dangerous, fiery red,
"Mia, you're digging your own grave!"
His hand tightened around the red mark on her neck, as if he could erase it with sheer force
Mia's face turned pale from the pain, her voice trembling as she quickly said, "Hunter, it's not what you think!"
Hunter's expression was icy, his eyes hard and unrelenting. "I saw Zac holding you last night with my own eyes, and you still have the nerve to say nothing happened?"
Despite how much she tried to avoid thinking about that awful night, Hunter's relentless accusations forced her to confront the memory. She took a deep breath, closing her eyes for a moment before speaking slowly. "Last night, I was on the highway when a group of drunk men attacked me. I was almost.... violated. Zac showed up just in time and saved me."
