Chapter 21: Goodnight, Honey

Chapter 21: Goodnight, Honey

Alvera was rooted to the same spot for quite a while.

From the distance, Roland shouted, "Why are you still standing there? Aren't you leaving?"

She stood up and followed him gloomily.

A deep feeling of disgust welled up in her as she stared at Roland from behind.

She could not do it with him. She would not let him do what he wanted.

She blinked, an idea forming in her head.

They entered the house one after another, where Becky had already prepared dinner. "Ms. Alvera,

dinner is ready."

...

"Thank you, Becky, you've had a long day. Add another set of cutlery for Mr. Francois. He will have

dinner here tonight," she said to the housekeeper.

"All right."

The food for dinner was very light.

Alvera could not eat heavy foods after the operation.

Roland was not a picky eater, so he ate what she ate.

After dinner, Becky cleaned up the table and left the room quickly by Roland's orders.

As soon as Becky left, Roland curled his lips into a wicked smile and looked at Alvera. "Who's

showering first? Or would you rather we shower together?"

...

Alvera said with a faint smile, "Mr. Francois, I just donated my liver in a life-saving operation."

"I've consulted the doctor. You'll be fine as long as you're not too tired," he replied.

He came prepared. Alvera gritted her teeth.

"Mr. Francois, aren't you worried that I'll leave just like last time?"

"This is your home."

Alvera nodded. "You're right. I'll shower first."

She headed upstairs while speaking.

Alvera surmised that Roland would not be waiting for her outside the entire time.

After all, he was already experienced.

She took a very long bath, taking her sweet time.

In fact, she sat in the bath long enough to feel a little dizzy.

Suddenly, there was a dull knock at the door. "Do you need my help?"

"I'm coming out," she replied.

She put on her bathrobe, left her cell phone by the sink, and went out.

As expected, Roland had already finished his bath and only had a bath towel around his waist.

With an evil but charming smile on his face, he picked her up and put her on the bed.

"You're not going to resist?" He asked surprisedly.

"Is there any use resisting?"

"No." NôvelDrama.Org: owner of this content.

"So, why should I struggle and make us both sweaty and unhappy?" She pointed to the light. "I have

only one request, Mr. Francois, turn off the light."

Roland reached out to the switch with his long arms and turned off the light.

Alvera took a deep breath and closed her eyes.

Roland's kiss was very suffocating.

Disgust filled her heart as she gripped tightly at the bedsheets. She did not resist him, but she also did

not respond to his provocation.

She counted silently. "One, two, three... twenty-seven."

Roland's cell phone rang.

At first, Roland ignored it.

Alvera pushed him away by the shoulder. "Answer your phone. You have plenty of time later, the night

is long."

Roland's snorted coldly in the darkness.

He got up, grabbed the phone from the side of the bed and picked up the call.

Andrina was crying weakly from the other end of the phone. "Roland."

...

"What's wrong?"

"Roland, I miss you," she cried. "I've been waiting for you. Why didn't you come to see me tonight? Do

you hate me? I used Alvera's liver to save myself. Do you also think I'm disgusting?"

Roland frowned and said impatiently, "Don't think too much. I have something to do tonight."

"I want to see you, can you come see me now?" Andrina continued crying. "Roland, I can't live without

seeing you all day. I know I'm very annoying, but... but I —" She coughed.

"You have a cold?" Roland asked.

"I was out in the wind for a bit this morning, so I got a little sick."

He rolled out of bed and turned on the light. "Who brought you out? Wait, I'm coming."

He hung up the phone and threw it on the bed. He began to put on his clothes.

Alvera had wrapped herself up tightly with the blankets.

She watched him get dressed quickly and said, "I didn't run away this time, so we're even now."

Roland glanced at her and said, "Sleep early."

"OK, good night, honey," she replied, her smile was cold and distant.

...

Roland hated this smile the most.

However, he was in no mood to argue with her. He picked up his bag and left the room.

Alvera waited for the sounds of the car leaving before getting up and putting on a bathrobe. She walked

into the bathroom and picked up the phone she left by the sink.

...

The screen showed that the phone was in a call with Andrina.

Just now, right before she came out of the bathroom, she had called Andrina.
