“Are you okay with leaving Mommy?” Donna’s voice had a hint of concern as she asked, her eyes filled with worry.
The three children had always remained by their mother Nelly’s side, never once straying away. They were inseparable, their bond unbreakable.
But now, with Ben’s decision to undergo training, it meant that he would be separated from Nelly and his siblings. The thought of it was already unbearable for Donna. Her heart ached at the possibility of not seeing her brother for a long time.
“I will definitely miss her,” Donna admitted, anguish evident in her voice. “But we all have to grow up one day and have our own lives. We can’t stay with her forever.”
Ben raised his brows, his gaze unwavering as he reassured his sister. “We have to be strong so we can protect her one day, right?” His words held determination, the weight of responsibility evident in his voice.
Donna let out a soft whine, her fear and sadness evident. “Yeah… but I still don’t want you to leave. How can Mommy live without her children?”
Ben smiled, his voice gentle yet resolute. “That’s why you’ll stay at home with Mommy. You will inherit and take care of everything Daddy has while I protect you and Mommy from the outside.”
Donna’s heart swelled with emotion, touched by her brother’s words. Deep down, she knew he was right. Their parents and siblings would always strive to protect her, but life was unpredictable. There may come a time when their roles would shift, and they would have to be capable of fending for themselves.
After a moment of silence, Donna spoke again, her voice soft and contemplative. “Let me sleep on this. I need time to think about it.”
Thalia, who had been silently listening, smiled and nodded, understanding the weight of their decision. “Sure. The minimum age for training is seven years old, so you can take all the time you need to chew on this.”
Donna nodded in response, her mind filled with conflicting emotions. Meanwhile, Tony, who had been following the conversation closely, pursed his lips as he pondered on Ben’s words. It was a moment of realization for him. He had always believed that staying by Nelly’s side was the best way to protect her, but he now understood that physical strength was equally crucial.
Being an IT pro could only take him so far. The most practical thing he could do was to become physically strong, to shield Nelly from any harm that may come her way. Ben’s insight had enlightened him, showcasing the wisdom that lay within his brother.
With newfound clarity, Tony spoke, his voice filled with admiration for Ben’s wisdom. “What about you? What are your plans?”
Thalia, intrigued by Tony’s change of mindset, chimed in eagerly, curious to hear his response. Tony looked up at her and Ben, determination gleaming in his eyes. “I agree with Ben. I didn’t realize I was wrong until I heard what he said.”C0ntent © 2024 (N/ô)velDrama.Org.
Thalia was surprised but pleased by Tony’s decision. It was a significant step forward, and she saw it as a triumph for their cause. She understood the importance of having him on board with their plan.
Tony continued, his voice resolute. “I need some time to settle something first, though, but it will be quick. I promise.”
Thalia nodded, respecting his need for time. They still had half a year before they had to make their final decision. Sparkles of excitement danced in Thalia’s eyes as she looked at the three children before her. They held immense potential, the future stars of Darknetz. She couldn’t help but revel in her accomplishment, knowing she had brought in three brilliant minds.
“It’s late, kids. You should head back already,” Thalia announced with a smile, but inside, she couldn’t help but wish she could share this moment with Sam, their leader.
As the children got up to leave, Tony offered a parting reminder. “Be careful when you go out later in the night.”
Thalia reassured him, her voice confident. “It’s okay. Not many people around here dare to do anything to me. Go on, don’t worry about me. Your mother will start feeling anxious if you guys keep her waiting!”
The children nodded and left, but Donna suddenly remembered something and looked back. “By the way, Thalia, we’re celebrating our birthday soon. Do you want to come to our party?”
Thalia was taken aback, surprised by the invitation. “You guys are celebrating together?”
Donna smiled and nodded. “Of course. We were born on the same day.”
Thalia’s surprise turned into delight as she gladly accepted the invitation. “Sure! I’ll be there!”
Donna’s joy was evident as she thanked Thalia. “Great! I’ll send you the address of the venue once that’s decided.”
“I’ll be waiting,” Thalia responded, her excitement barely contained.
As the children walked away, Thalia couldn’t help but reflect on the unexpected connection she saw between Donna and coding. The girl, who seemed too cute for such a skill, had surprised her in the past with her determination and fiery spirit.
Thalia’s mind started to wander, considering what gifts to get the triplets for their birthday party. Her thoughts were filled with possibilities and anticipation, knowing that these three geniuses held immense potential. It was a journey she was eager to embark on, for the future held countless opportunities for those who worked hard to become stronger.
