Of course, Erin wasn’t going to just leave without putting up a fight. “I’m not going anywhere! Do you guys have any idea who I am?” Her voice quivered with a hint of defiance.
Not wanting to waste any more time with her, the manager’s eyes glowed with a predatory gleam as he ordered, “Get her out of here!”
The two burly men, their fangs glistening in the moonlight, lurched forward and seized Erin by the arms. Their knuckles turned white as they tightened their grip, ready to drag her out of the shadows.
Zachary, with his heightened senses, caught sight of the commotion. His eyes widened with feral intensity as he sprinted towards his mother, muscles rippling beneath his shirt. “What’s happening, Mom? Please stop this, you guys!” His voice carried a mixture of fear and desperation.
As if she had found a glimmer of hope in a sea of darkness, Erin pleaded with him, her voice tinged with urgency, “They’re ganging up on me, son!” Her words trembled on the edge of breaking.
Zachary’s frown deepened when he looked up and saw Alpha Wade and Alpha King Larry, formidable werewolf leaders with eyes that held ancient wisdom. “Alpha Morris, Alpha Jackson, what’s going on here?” His voice exuded a mix of authority and confusion.
Alpha Wade, taken aback by Zachary’s presence, couldn’t hide his surprise. “Zachary? She’s your mother?” His voice rumbled with the weight of ancient authority.
Zachary nodded reluctantly, his eyes flickering with unease. “Yes, she is. Can you tell me what happened?” His words were laced with a tinge of resignation.
The look on Alpha Wade’s face turned eerily gloomy, his gaze shifting away without uttering a single word. The silence spoke volumes of the truth.
“Zachary, you know these people?” Erin’s voice trembled with uncertainty, seeking solace in her son’s knowledge of the situation.
Zachary simply frowned and kept his silence, his eyes locked on the alphas before him.
Oh? What a coincidence! This guy has already gotten off to a bad start before he even does anything! Looks like we have the upper hand here! The thought swirled within Alpha King Larry’s mind, a smirk playing on his lips.
Despite feeling a little relieved, Zachary maintained a calm facade, his voice clear as he cleared his throat. “She bumped into Donna and refused to apologize. On top of that, she even threatened to teach them a lesson on our behalf. I was just returning the favor.” His eyes flickered with an intensity that hinted at his hidden strength.
Zachary shifted his gaze toward Erin upon hearing her denial, his voice laced with a hint of disappointment. Erin shook her head profusely, her denial falling on deaf ears. “No, that’s not true! These two kids wouldn’t get out of my way, so I was just trying to scare them a little!”
Zachary frowned, his knowledge of his mother’s scheming ways all too familiar. He chose to ignore her plea and turned his attention to Donna, a sparkle of concern in his eyes. “Are you okay, Donna? Did she hurt you anywhere?”
Donna rubbed a reddened spot on her head and offered a small smile. “Right here, but I’m all good now.”
“I’m sorry you got hurt like this, Donna. I’ll apologize to you on her behalf, okay?” Zachary’s voice softened with sincerity.
“Zachary!” Erin protested angrily, her voice laced with frustration.
Donna nodded, her anger dissipating at the sincerity in Zachary’s words. “Okay! I’ll stop being mad since you’ve apologized, Mr. Alpha Zachary!”
Zachary gently patted Donna’s head before turning his attention to Tony, his voice filled with remorse. “Tony, I-”
“No need to apologize to me. I’m fine with it as long as my sister is. Just keep in mind that I will not sit by and do nothing if someone bullies my sister.” Tony’s voice carried the weight of protectiveness.
Zachary flashed Tony a genuine smile, his voice filled with gratitude. “I understand, but I still need to apologize to you regardless.”
Tony sighed helplessly, the weight of their complicated situation weighing heavily on his shoulders.
I really like Alpha Zachary for being such a gentle and chivalrous man. Oh, well… It really is a shame… Alpha King Larry’s thoughts drifted to a future that could have been.
Having obtained their forgiveness, Alpha Zachary stood up to face Alpha Wade and Alpha King Larry, his voice demanding but respectful. “Alpha Morris, Alpha Jackson, my mother is indeed at fault here today. Will you two please let this slide for my sake?”
Alpha Wade’s anger simmered beneath the surface, his silence speaking volumes. He cast one more glance at Zachary before turning away, his emotions too tumultuous to be expressed.Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g
“All right. We’ll let it slide since Donna has chosen to forgive her,” Alpha King Larry said, motioning for the manager to stand down.
The manager nodded obediently, instructing the security guards to back off.
Alpha King Larry walked up to Alpha Wade and whispered, “Come on, Alpha Wade. Let’s carry on with our meal. Don’t let this ruin our mood!” His voice carried a hint of consolation.
Alpha Wade remained silent, his gaze lingering on Zachary for a moment before finally returning to the private room.
“I will have two men stand guard outside your private room to prevent anyone from disturbing you any further, Alpha Morris. I will also be on standby here, so just let me know if you need anything,” the manager added, his voice showing utmost respect as he bowed.
Alpha King Larry nodded gratefully, entering the private room with the kids in tow.
Erin watched them walk away, her frustration boiling over. “Who the heck are those people? How dare they gang up on me like this?” Her voice dripped with anger and indignation.
“The Morris family is the economic lifeline for Moonwalk pack. Dad has always been wanting to collaborate with them,” Zachary whispered, his voice filled with implications.
Erin froze, her eyes widening in disbelief as Zachary’s words sunk in.
“A-Are you serious?” Erin stammered after a brief pause, her voice tinged with both shock and dread.
Zachary nodded, his face etched with a mixture of weariness and disappointment. The weight of their family’s reputation and expectations loomed heavily on his shoulders.
After a moment of reflection, Erin issued a firm instruction to Zachary. “Don’t let your dad find out about this. He’ll get mad if he does!” Her voice quivered with fear, aware of the consequences that would follow.
Zachary shot her a piercing look, his silence betraying his thoughts on the matter.
Desmond will never forgive me if I get on Morris Corporation’s bad side! I mustn’t let him find out about this! Erin trembled at the thought of the trouble she had recklessly stumbled into.
With the dramatic incident over, Spencer, the ever-observant werewolf, wore a faint smile on his lips. “Those kids sure are something else! Despite acting like victims on the outside, they’re actually ingenious little schemers on the inside!” His voice carried a hint of admiration for their cunning.
Nelly, her eyes flickering with a smoldering flame, remained silent. The anger within her burned like a wild fire, but she chose to keep it contained.
“What’s the matter? Are you angry?” Spencer prodded, sensing the rage emanating from her.
“No.” Nelly calmly returned to her seat, resuming her meal with a cold sneer tugging at her lips.
Spencer jabbed at her playfully, unable to resist. “Are you sure? You look like you’re about to kill someone!”
Nelly ignored his barbs, her eyes glistening with predatory intent.
Having recalled something, Spencer’s curiosity got the better of him. “Also, didn’t you say you were going to introduce me to someone? Who is it?” His voice carried a tinge of excitement.
“You’ll find out when the time comes,” Nelly responded cryptically, her eyes glinting with mysterious knowledge.
“What, you can’t bring that person over right now?” Spencer’s excitement grew, his impatience evident.
“Now isn’t a convenient time.” Nelly’s voice held an air of mystery, leaving Spencer’s curiosity unsatisfied.
