Alpha King’s pregnant Ex-Luna

“Zachary?” The words hung in the air, the sound of them echoing through the dark forest. Before he could respond, a woman’s coquettish voice pierced the silence from behind him.

Nelly raised her head, her senses alert to the presence of another. Her eyes landed on a woman in an elegant Chanel outfit, who stood there staring at Zachary with surprise in her eyes.

Zachary turned back, his frown deepening at the sight of the woman. “It really is you,” she said, her tone laced with venom. She approached him, glancing disdainfully at the couple on a date.

Envy flashed in the woman’s eyes as she took in the sight of Nelly. The beauty exuded by her seemingly effortless presence unsettled her. Nelly seemed to embody the essence of a lead female character in a movie, captivating and elegant.

Winnifred was lost in her thoughts for a moment as she studied Nelly, her mind spinning with conjectures about her relationship with Zachary. Alpha Zachary’s interaction with her was no ordinary connection, that much was clear.

Winnifred snapped back to reality, her skin prickling under Nelly’s unwavering gaze. She redirected her attention towards Alpha Zachary and pointed a finger at Nelly. “Is this why you weren’t willing to go on a date with me?”

Zachary furrowed his eyebrows, his frustration evident. “This has nothing to do with her,” he snapped, standing up abruptly. “Let’s talk outside.”

But Winnifred refused to leave, her eyes fixed on Nelly as if scrutinizing her for flaws. “No need. We can talk right here.”

Helplessness washed over Zachary as his gaze shifted between the two women.

Nelly, her confidence unshaken, gracefully rubbed her lower lip and stood up. “I’m going to the restroom. You two can continue your conversation.”

Each step, each movement she took in her dress radiated a mesmerizing allure.

Winnifred couldn’t help herself from asking, “Aren’t you curious about who I am?”

Nelly turned her gaze back towards Alpha Zachary and Winnifred, a smile playing at her lips. “It doesn’t matter to me, because Alpha Zachary and I are just normal friends.” With that, she walked away, heading towards the restroom.

Normal friends, the words echoed in Alpha Zachary’s mind. Is that really all I am to her? Doesn’t she feel anything more?

Winnifred, too, was taken aback by Nelly’s response. What did she mean by that? I expected her to fight me, but this is different.

She turned her attention back to Alpha Zachary, her voice laden with bitterness. “Are you two really just friends?”

Bitterness clouded Alpha Zachary’s eyes as he swallowed the words he longed to say.

At that moment, the truth dawned on Winnifred as she observed his silent anguish. A wicked smile appeared on her lips. “So, she’s the only one who sees you as a normal friend.”

His words stung, anger flickering within him. “This is my matter, Winnifred. It has nothing to do with you.”

“Of course it has everything to do with me. You rejected our marriage proposal because of her, but it seems she doesn’t even like you.” Tears welled up in Winnifred’s eyes, her voice trembling. “You think I would’ve agreed to it if not for you? Do you really not understand, or are you just pretending?”

Alpha Zachary stood there, frozen like a statue, as he tried to gather his scattered thoughts.

After a moment, Nelly returned from the restroom.

Alpha Zachary turned to her, forcing a smile onto his face.

“She’s left?” she asked calmly.

He nodded, a weight of guilt settling on his shoulders.

Nelly checked the time and spoke, her voice composed. “I think it’s time for me to go home.”

“I’ll drive you,” Alpha Zachary offered.

She stared at him, contemplating for a moment, before finally nodding.

Silence filled the car as they drove.

Alpha Zachary cast a sidelong glance at her. “Don’t you have any questions for me?”

Nelly pondered for a moment before looking at him directly. “It’s your private matter. If you want to share, I’ll listen as your friend.”

Friend, the word resonated in his ears, its weight heavy with unspoken desires.

“It seems like you truly don’t mind,” Alpha Zachary said with a bitter smile.

Nelly looked at him steadily, her clear eyes unyielding.

“I… was going to confess to you,” he admitted, the wry smile lingering on his lips.

Nelly continued to gaze at him, unsure of what to say.

He stole another glance at her, a sense of resignation filling his eyes. “I didn’t expect her to show up and ruin everything.”

“Who is she?” Nelly asked, her voice steady.

“Someone the Lucas family wants me to marry.”All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.

She narrowed her eyes, her curiosity piqued.

Alpha Zachary took a deep breath, his voice tinged with weariness. “I’m the illegitimate son of Desmond Lucas, the CEO of Lucas Corporation. I was raised overseas and only returned here when I became an adult. The company has been struggling, and they want me to take over and marry into the Lenoir family. They believe it will save the company.”

Nelly listened intently, her lips pursed tightly.

The car came to a stop.

He fixed his gaze on her, searching for understanding. “But I don’t care about the company or the marriage. I just want to live my own life and be with someone I love. That’s all I need to be happy.”

His words laid bare his intentions.

Nelly held his gaze, unwavering. “Sometimes, our circumstances are beyond our control. Can you truly stand by and watch your family’s company crumble?”

He faltered, his silence revealing the truth.

She turned her gaze to the window, the scenery of the residential area unfolding outside.

She looked back at Alpha Zachary and offered a gentle smile. “Thank you for sharing this with me, Alpha Zachary. As your friend, I suggest you think carefully before making any decisions that you might regret in the future.”

With that, she unbuckled her seatbelt. “Also, thank you for the meal today. Goodbye.”

She opened the car door, but before she could step out, he grabbed her, his grip firm yet desperate.
