“You know well why I’m doing this. Lara, this is my last mercy for you after all you did for the company. If you agree to leave Moonwalk pack, I’ll pretend nothing ever happened,” the Alpha growled in a deep, menacing tone.
Lara snarled, her voice dripping with arrogance and defiance. “I don’t understand what you’re talking about. No way I’ll leave the Moonwalk pack!”
The Alpha’s eyes narrowed as he stared at her, his voice low and dangerous. “Do you seriously think no one knows what you did?”
Lara froze, her body tense as she stared at him incredulously. After a long silence, she insisted, “I really don’t know what you’re talking about.”
A cold snort escaped the Alpha’s lips as he pinned her with a withering gaze. “You don’t know? You ordered Gary to target her and even helped him by sending the doctors away. Do you really think your scheme went unnoticed?” he growled.
Flustered, Lara gazed at him wordlessly, unable to form a coherent response.
“Fortunately, Nelly managed to escape unscathed this time. If something happens to her, I will never spare your life!” the Alpha warned, his voice filled with a chilling threat.
Each word he uttered trampled on her heart viciously, shattering it into a million pieces.
Lara’s fists balled up as she stared at him, her voice laced with desperation as she tried to protect herself. “Really? Do you have evidence to tie me to the incident?”
A cold chuckle escaped the Alpha’s lips, his eyes gleaming with a predatory glint. “If you have evidence, then call the cops and tell them to arrest me,” he sneered.
Realization washed over the Alpha, and he suddenly understood that he had never truly known Lara’s real self all these years.
“If you have evidence, then present it. Otherwise, stop trying to twist the truth,” Lara said slowly, her voice dripping with false innocence.
A smirk played on the Alpha’s lips. He had said what he needed to say, refusing to waste any more time on Lara’s attempts to deceive him. With one final warning, he got to his feet and stalked away, leaving Lara standing there, seething with anger.
Deep down, she vowed silently, Alpha Kilian, I will never leave! No one can make me leave. I’ll stay here and watch as you lose everything! By then, you’ll find out who loves you the most.
Dressed in a knee-length black coat, Nelly strode purposefully, her presence commanding attention from everyone around her. But her focus was on one person alone.
As Nelly reached the door, a hand grabbed her arm, causing her to stop in her tracks. Before she could react, she was pulled into a secluded corner. Her brows furrowed in confusion as she looked up to see the Alpha’s face.
“Why are you here?” Nelly questioned, her voice filled with suspicion.
A smile spread across the Alpha’s face, his eyes gleaming with a mix of mischief and desire. “I should be the one asking the question. Did you follow me here?”
Nelly chuckled softly and tilted her head. “Your narcissism knows no bounds, Alpha.”
Alpha Kilian’s smile widened, his heart leaping at her presence. “What brings you here then?”
Nelly avoided his gaze, a playful smile playing on her lips. “What do you think?”
Alpha Kilian’s curiosity peaked as he stared at her intently, determined to uncover the truth. “Did you follow me here?”
Nelly’s laughter filled the air as she shook her head. “Your ego is getting the best of you, Alpha.”
His gaze remained fixated on her, his concern evident as he asked, “You look pale. Are you feeling unwell?”
Nelly turned away, trying to dismiss his worry. “I’m fine.”
A sudden motion caught her off guard as Alpha Kilian held her chin, forcing her to meet his gaze. “Tell me, what happened?”
Nelly’s brows furrowed as she quickly thought of an excuse. “Nothing. I was in pain from my wound.”
Alpha Kilian gazed at her thoughtfully, his worry deepening. “Why did you leave the hospital if you haven’t recovered? I can take you back.”
“No,” Nelly protested, trying to pull away.Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.
Alpha Kilian’s eyes darkened at her resistance. “I’ll bring you back, whether you like it or not.”
But Nelly refused to give in. “I’ll just rest at home.”
Alpha Kilian’s voice softened, concern lacing his words. “Did you leave the hospital because you didn’t want to see me?”
Nelly frowned, avoiding his gaze. “My decision has nothing to do with you.”
Alpha Kilian’s frustration grew, his patience wearing thin. “Then why did you leave without saying anything? Why didn’t you answer my calls?”
“I didn’t hear my phone ringing,” Nelly replied, her voice laced with vague excuses.
“Stop making excuses!” Alpha Kilian snapped, his frustration boiling over.
Nelly remained silent, unable to come up with a response.
Closing the distance between them, Alpha Kilian leaned in, his voice low and filled with intensity. “I heard Alpha Zachary gave you a ride from the hospital. Is that true?”
