Addicted to Luring – Mister, Please Behave

Chapter 37: I Want to Hide You

Rex glanced at the clock. “It’s getting late. I have to go.”

“Now?” Wendy was a little agitated and she shot to her feet from the chair.

Rex stood up, lowered his head to look at Wendy, raised the corner of his mouth, and deliberately lowered his voice. “Are you reluctant to part with me?”

Wendy’s heart was suddenly filled with emotions and she quickly looked away. “Who can’t bear to see you go? I don’t want to see you and I don’t know you.”

“But I recognize you, Leaf rocking–” Rex deliberately dragged out her name. His clear voice drilled into her ears and into her heart, tickling her.

Seeing that she was embarrassed, Rex immediately stopped being serious and said seriously, “I will stay here for a month, so if you want to steal the watermelons, I can go with you.”

“When?” Wendy’s eyes lit up with joy.

Rex bit his lip and smiled. “Didn’t you say you didn’t want to see me?”

Wendy was rendered speechless. She puffed up her cheeks and glared at Rex.

Rex reached out and pinched her face. “All right, don’t be angry. Go home quickly. I have to take some more photos. I’ll wait for you here at 7: 00 p. m. next Friday.”

“Sure, my house is the first one at the entrance of the village. Come to find me if I didn’t come.”

“Well.”

With a creak, Wendy carefully opened the door. It was dark in the room. It seemed that her mother had fallen asleep.

She tiptoed into the room and slowly closed the door. Only then did she let out a sigh of relief and quickly take out a photo from her pocket.

Rex in the photo was standing in the tea garden with a warm smile on his face. His features were as beautiful as a painting, and his handsome was unforgettable.

Later on, the stolen photo became the only light in Wendy’s life. She wanted to hide him and let no one see him.

She put the photo into the diary, and then wrote two crooked words on the side.

“Rex Gavyn”

From then on, spring and sunshine were like his smile and his eyes in Wendy’s heart.

“Dong!”

Just as Wendy was shaking her head with a silly smile on her face, something suddenly smashed against the window. She immediately woke up from her fantasy and before she could walk over to the window, it hit again.

Wendy frowned and walked over. She opened the window and asked, “Who……”

In an instant, a hint of sweetness overflowed from the depths of her chest.

Rex, who was under the window, held a big watermelon with a harmless smile on his face. “Wendy, I stole watermelon for you. Take it.”

Wendy tiptoed on the ground and smiled. “Why did you go steal watermelon?”

Before Wendy could take the watermelon, a man caught up with them from not far away. It seemed that he was Leo Brown, who was growing watermelons. He shouted, “You bastard! How dare you steal my watermelon! I’ll beat you to death!”

Wendy’s heart skipped a beat. Rex threw the watermelon to her and said, “Wait for me, in a week.”

Before Wendy could return, Rex had already run away. She looked at the melon in her hand and it felt heavy, as if it was pressed against her heart.

The next morning, Wendy was woken up by the noise outside. She rubbed her eyes and walked into the living room, only to see Wendy’s mother standing in front of Leo, listening to his scolding.

Wendy took a step forward and stood in front of her mother. “What’s wrong?”This content © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

Wendy’s mother pushed her away and she fell to the ground. “Mom……”

Wendy’s mother grabbed Leo’s hand and said, “Uncle Leo, it’s my child who is immature. I will definitely educate her well. Please spare her this time.”

“She has stolen more than once or twice!” Leo said angrily.

“Yes, yes, yes. I will definitely educate her well.” After that, Wendy’s mother slapped Wendy hard on the back. “Hurry up and apologize to Uncle Leo.”

Wendy stood up reluctantly and her tone was unpleasant. “I’m sorry.”

Leo sighed and said, “Forget it, you are still a child. I won’t argue with you. Don’t stay with such a boy in the future.”

“A boy?” Wendy’s mother looked at Wendy with a livid face. “What boy?”

Leo added. “Hey, don’t you know? Your daughter and a young boy from another city worked together to steal my melon, but the young boy was caught by me last night. He immediately exposed your daughter.”

Hearing this, Wendy suddenly felt a fire burning in her stomach. She stood up, rushed to Leo, and pointed at him. “Nonsense!”

“How am I speaking nonsense?”

“It’s impossible for him to pull me out! You’re lying!” Wendy’s face was red and she felt as if someone was strangling her neck and it was hard for her to breathe.

How was that possible? How could he betray me?

On the fifth day of Wendy’s confinement, it started raining heavily.

The sky seemed to be sinking. The dark clouds were hanging on the roof and her heart was shattered by the rain.

She leaned against the window. The ground was full of pits and puddles, and there were even a few footprints of different sizes embedded in it.

She was annoyed for no reason.

The outside world was tempting for her. Some people were like poppys that could not be shaken off once tainted.

She, who had always been immune to poison, was actually poisoned by a poison called Rex.

A few more drops of rain trickled in from outside the window. Wendy’s plain and clean face now had a few drops of rain added to it. She stretched out a hand, the tips of her fingers turning slightly cold.

The girl’s thoughts were always written all over her face. It was easy to tell whether she was happy or angry. However, Rex, who had rushed over in the rain that day, had his eyes clouded, and couldn’t see anything clearly.

Wendy was in the middle of a nap when she was interrupted by a sudden thud outside the window. She stood up and saw that there were two more pairs of hands by the window frame. She immediately let out a cry. Fortunately, there was no one at home. Otherwise, she might have caused even more trouble.

Rex clung to the window and struggled to show his head. He said with difficulty, “Wendy, it’s me.”

Wendy was both happy and angry. Rex’s body was covered in mud and water, and his hair had been drenched by the rain. He looked extremely miserable.

The grievance that she had held back for days suddenly surged up. Wendy took a few steps forward and pretended to close the window. “Go away!”

The rain was too heavy. Rex lost his strength and accidentally fell into the muddy water.

Wendy’s heart tightened. “Are you alright?”

Rex rose to his feet. Facing the rain, he put on a smile and asked, “Are you worried about me? Are you not be angry?”

Wendy bit her lip. She was extremely stubborn and her heart was in great pain.

“My mother won’t let me go out. You can go.”

“I’ll take you out.”

In that instant, Wendy seemed to see tens of thousands of stars beckoning to her and the distance that she yearned for also slowly walked towards her.

When people was young, they always acted on impulse, regardless of the consequences, and rushed alone to the unknown ending.

Wendy took an umbrella from her home. It was a little shabby, but it was barely usable.

She stood by the window and threw down the umbrella. “You hold it first. Don’t get yourself wet.”

Rex took the umbrella and put it between his armpits. “I’ll pick you up first.”

He opened his arms wide and his broad chest caused Wendy to suddenly feel a sense of security. She took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and jumped down.

Wendy fell into a warm embrace and when she opened her eyes again, an umbrella had already appeared above her head, blocking all of the wind and rain in this universe, leaving behind only the throbbing heartbeats of the two young souls.

Rex wrapped his arms tightly around Wendy’s slender waist and smiled. “Good girl, I’ll take you somewhere.”

After that, Wendy’s hand was grabbed by a big hand. She was stunned, “Where are we going?”

“You’ll know when you get there.” Rex tilted his head and smiled at her. His hands were still clenched tightly, as if he was afraid that Wendy would get lost.

Wendy instantly quieted down and stopped talking back. She was as obedient as a kitten.

Rex couldn’t help but rub her little nose. “Lovely.”

Wendy’s black and bright eyes were filled with the shyness of a young girl. She pursed her lips and said, “You’re cute too.”

“Then can I interpret that cuteness means love?” Rex leaned over and whispered into Wendy’s ear.

Wendy had never been in a relationship before. At that moment, it was like the first awakening of love, and his words were like a piece of hot iron that suddenly burned into the bottom of her heart.
