Chapter 240 Had Anyone Saved Her
Chapter 240 Had Anyone Saved Her
"Brilliant. Show them in please." Hearing the news, she was uplifted.
Voilet had always thought Amy would be a perfect match to Charles. She definitely had the looks; she
was well mannered, graceful and came from a reputed clan.
There was another reason behind her hatred towards Linda. It was because James had a crush on
Sherry Nolan, and the fact that Linda took after her mother.
But now, Violet had gladly accepted Linda, and even thought her desirable..
Amy on the other hand, had lost all credibility after the incident.
"Young Master Mu and Lady Linda", the guard announced.
She was dead, wasn't she?
Amy was completely baffled.
If she wasn't dead, Linda would definitely get back at her. Amy recalled every detail of how she had
tortured Linda, before pushing her into the cold river.
Amy felt a sudden knot in her stomach; something wasn't right.
Lisa Xia and Charles' entered the room, hand in hand. They exchanged pleasantries with James and
Violet.
"Mother, Father, you have a guest? We wished you had informed us."
Amy was in a state of confusion. Her mind was at unrest. She was still trying to make sense of
everything, for she thought she had been successful in getting rid of Linda. So, who was this? Had
Linda survived? Why was Linda looking at her like she had never seen her before? Had she lost her NôvelDrama.Org: owner of this content.
memory?
"You don't remember me?" Amy enquired casually, while trying to keep her calm.
Even though Lisa was unaware of Amy's existence until now, she didn't make it obvious. Was she an
acquaintance of the Mu Clan?
"Am I supposed to know who you are?"
Violet was happy to see Linda's reaction when she saw Amy. Perhaps, Linda had decided to be the
better person here, by being cordial.
Violet felt Linda would fit in to the family perfectly. She would make a good wife to Charles, and
wonderful daughter-in-law to her and James.
"Linda, I've made you some chicken soup, drink it before it gets cold." Violet welcomed Linda in the
dining room.
Linda didn't want to draw any unnecessary attention to herself over her reaction when meeting Amy.
She said softly to Violet, "Thank you, mother. I will let you and Charles be now. Have a nice chat."
But, just as she was about to turn away, she pretended to send out a text message, but managed to
click a photo of Amy. Then quickly sent it to an unknown number, With a brief note, "Her Files."
Lisa Xia and Amy had very similar feelings when it came to Linda. They both loathed her. Although Lisa
and Amy had not crossed path before, but she had figured out that something was going on between
Amy and Linda.
Lisa was curious to find out who Amy was and what her connection with Linda.
Within a minute she heard her mobile beep, it was a response from the unknown number.
Lisa excused herself, then found a quite corner to read the message. She had memorized every detail
before deleting it.
It was no doubt that Lisa was a self-seeking woman. She would do everything in her power to keep her
place in Charles' heart. She wouldn't allow anyone to take away her chance of living a good and lavish
life as Linda.
While Lisa was sipping on her soup, she decided to take a poke at Amy.
And, she had the perfect thought.
Lisa never wanted to have this baby, because she didn't know who the father was, something she was
not happy about.
It all happened a while ago, at Johnson's birthday party, when she was gang-raped. She did not go out
for a very long time, for she knew her name was tarnished and it was all everyone was talking about.
Violet always had a soft corner for Amy and she thought of her as her child. She knew how troubled
Amy had been.
And she would worry that Amy would get herself in trouble by doing something out of line.
When all of a sudden Violet said, "Amy, Charles and Linda have been engaged and the wedding is
around the corner. So..."
Amy composed herself and spoke softly but graciously to Violet, "Yes, I'm aware of this wonderful
news. I wish them a life time of happiness together. I didn't know they were coming here, or I would
have a brought them a gift." Having said that, Amy let a tear roll down her cheek. Violet reached out
and gave Amy a compassionate hug.
"You are an amazing girl, and one day you will find your Mr. Right, I'm certain of that." Violet assured
Amy.
"Thank you, Voilet." I appreciate the kind words.
Violet said, "Amy, I have missed you. It's good to have you back. Since it's almost time for dinner, why
don't you stay? Charles and Linda are also here. Now is a good time for all of us to bury the past and
reunite as a family.
To that Amy agreed gladly.
Violet offered Amy to join her for a bit of yoga before dinner. But, Amy's mind was still on Linda. She
was still trying to put the pieces together in her mind.
"Linda Xia was dead or had she survived?" Amy kept going back and forth with these thoughts.
Amy was so sure she had pushed Linda into raging waters. How did she survive that?
Did someone find her and save her?
"Where are those scars? There should be 10 of them." Amy kept thinking about that. It would have
been impossible for the scars to fade.
Amy had made deep gashes on Linda's face with the knife. The water would have only worsened them.
How could she still look beautiful? Something was not right here and Amy could feel it.
Who was this woman and why was she pretending to be Linda? Amy knew Linda well. But, this woman
felt like a complete stranger to her.
Amy felt uncertain. She knew she had to dig deeper now.
She decided the only way to find out what was going on was by confronting this woman. But, it had to
be in private, so nobody got suspicious. She knew for sure there was more to this.
