Chapter 226 Lily's Care

"Yes, my Lady."

Nelson took out his phone to call the police. They arrived within a few minutes.

Since Nelson had mentioned he was calling on behalf of the Nalan Clan, the case was considered

serious, and several senior officers arrived at the scene.

"Would you please consider coming with me. Don't stay here anymore."

Before Lily could respond, Linda said, "Nel, take her luggage into our car. Well, Lily, stop being angry

with him, he didn't mean to offend you. If you are still angry, l will punish him back home. He also lives

in the Nalan clan. You can meet each other more often."

Lily was hesitant. Although they had just met, she knew in her heart that she was already in love with

him.

She did not like the idea of being a bother to Linda by living in the Nalan Clan. Besides, she and Rosy

were also in conflict with one another.

"Will it not be an issue if I came with you to your house?" Lily asked with hesitation.

"Absolutely not! I live on my own. There will be no trouble if you came." Spring Festival is coming. Do

you want to celebrate it alone? Come with me!"

"OK!"

Lily was smiling. Nelson was completely taken in with her charm and beauty.

Lily was different from the others. Her innocence was appealing every time one would look at her. The

look of her radiant skin, with those expressive eyes, tender lips made her stand out from the crowd.

Lily was a natural beauty. Her soft luscious hair casually lay over her shoulders; these were some of

the qualities Nelson pictured about a perfect woman.

After calling the police, Linda, Nelson, and Lily just stood at the doorway. While the police arrested the

two men lying on the ground.

On the other side, Lily's landlady quickly locked the doors and refused to step out, when she heard

Nelson calling the police.

The police arrived in ten minutes.

"Hello, Mr. Li. We are here from the local police station. What made you call us?

"Oh yes, I'm the butler of Miss Linda, the Lady of Nalan Clan. We were returning after dropping Miss

Linda's friend, Miss Lily over here. In a few minutes, we heard her screaming, and when I got here,

these three men had her cornered to the wall. They were trying to harm her. Miss Linda has requested

you to arrest them, and find out who they are and who sent them."

"Sure sir. Please convey our apology to Miss Linda for all the trouble caused to her friend. We will

make sure that more police guards are sent out to patrol this area."

"Ok. We will be returning now. Also, would you be able to investigate the landlady of this house? The

three men came out from the iron door. We can only think of just one explanation, somebody opened

the door and let them out." Nelson was very sure the landlady was involved.

"Alright. Please trust us to investigate this matter and send a complete report to Nalan Clan."

The local police were well aware of the Nalan Clan and they gave this case top priority.

Linda was satisfied, now that the police were going to conduct a thorough investigation.

She will ensure the culprits behind this were punished.

Once Nelson had loaded the car with Lily's belongings, Lily sat in with Linda.

"You're so kind, Linda. I really appreciate your all the help." Lily was grateful to Linda for all the trouble

she had gone through for her.

Lily understood when Linda had helped her in the library. She was obligated to Linda, for she never had

anyone care for her and help out this much.

On their way back, Lily spoke about all the stories back in campus.

These various interesting stories in Q University

Were similar to what happened when Linda was in Z University.

She was so amused.

Lily looked at Linda. She saw a few scars, and was curious to know why she wore a mask all the time.

She did not want to ask about them, as this didn't seem like an appropriate time. Besides, she didn't

want Linda to think of any bad memories.

Linda knew Lily was curious. She spoke softly: "I wear the mask because there are many scars on my

face. I don't want to scare other people."

Lily could see Linda had such revealing eyes. But, she still didn't know the secret behind those scars.

Maybe it was best left unsaid, she thought.

"Does it hurt?"

"Yes!"

Linda realised Lily was a such a kindhearted innocent girl. Lily did not once ask about how she got

scares, instead asked her if they still hurt.

Lily smiled and looked outside the window. Linda was surprised. She saw how Lily's beautiful hair

swirled with the wind. Nelson wished he could turn around to get a glimpse of Lily. He could not since

he was driving.

"Why are you trying to look at me?"

Lily asked Nelson when she saw he was trying to get a peek at her.
