A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 884: Persuasion

“Father… my feelings for Brendon are real,” Ranita hesitated to speak, as Benedict was an elder male figure and she had never discussed her feelings with him before.

“I love him.”

“But some things cannot be solved with just feelings.” Benedict paused and continued, “I have inquired through someone, and I found out that the daughter of the Kurima Murphy family likes him. Even though the engagement has been called off, the interests of such a family will always outweigh emotions.”

“Father, you should trust Brendon’s abilities. If he doesn’t want to, no one can force him to yield,” Ranita said, pursing her lips.

Benedict was slightly taken aback.

After a while, he sighed and said, “Alright, I have been overly concerned! I will talk to your mother about it. You should rest early!”

“Thank you, Father! You’re really kind!” Ranita felt a sense of excitement. Persuading Benedict was like achieving half of her success!

However, Benedict waved his hand dismissively. “Don’t flatter me! You know your mother’s character. Although she is gentle, she is also stubborn. Once she decides on something, it’s difficult to change her mind. I can only try to talk to her.”

“Give her some time.”

Ranita nodded. “I know!”

After a pause, Ranita continued, “Father, you are feeling better now, and there are many things happening in Slovenia. I want to take Ayaan…”

Before she could finish her sentence, Benedict immediately opposed, “Ranita, you just came back and now you want to leave again?”

“If you go this time, will you not come back for several years?”

Ranita didn’t dare to say it, but if she left, she really couldn’t be sure when she would return!

“Ranita, your mother and I are getting older. Can’t you help with the business in Slovenia?”

“At least let Ayaan stay here! He is still young and it’s better for him to stay in the country.”

Benedict couldn’t bear to part with Ayaan. He was so cute and smart, the only grandchild in their family. He really couldn’t bear to let him go.

Ranita felt that if they continued this discussion, they would end up arguing, so she stopped the topic. “Father, I just mentioned it briefly. I will go rest now.”NôvelDrama.Org © content.

A little later.

Ranita was about to sleep when she received a call from Brendon.

“Ranita, come out for a moment!” His deep voice sounded like the night outside, carrying a hint of coolness that was particularly pleasant.

“It’s so late, why aren’t you going home?” Ranita answered the call and quietly went out. Brendon was smarter this time and parked the car further away.

As soon as Ranita got into the car, he pulled her onto his lap.

Brendon took out a ring from his pocket and handed it to Ranita like a treasure. “I found the ring. Let me put it on for you.”

Ranita noticed that Brendon’s clothes were a bit messy and his hair was disheveled. She chuckled lightly, “You only found it now?”

“Yeah! You have no idea how difficult it is to clean up those colored balls!” Brendon gritted his teeth as he spoke, looking extremely displeased. It seemed that he had indeed gone through some hardships.

“Put it on quickly!” Brendon pinched the ring and tried to put it on her finger.

Ranita couldn’t help but laugh. “We’re only dating, and you want me to wear a ring already? Isn’t it a bit too fast?”

Too fast? Brendon felt that it was too slow!

He wished he could take her home right now and hold her in his arms day and night, not letting anyone else even take a glance.

“Put it on!” Brendon bared his teeth.

Ranita’s emotions were complex at this moment. All the sweetness and bitterness seemed to surge up at once, making her eyes feel sour and her eyelids turn red.
