Chapter 302

Chapter 302

Luther wiped off the cake on his face and held on to his tummy that was hurt from laughing too much “Your singing is life-threatening.” C0ntent © 2024 (N/ô)velDrama.Org.

Sage lifted the crossbow gifted by Kane. Luther immediately felt fear and hid behind Seth.

Nigel sighed and said to his sister, “You’ve always been a multitalented person. You’re smart and a fast learner. Any teacher would want you to be their apprentice in a heartbeat. How come you’re so poor and singing and dancing? I’ll never know.” Sage was unbothered. “I can’t be good at everything. God is fair.” “You’re still really bad at singing!” Nigel was direct and brutal. Sage aimed the crossbow at Nigel. He immediately kept his mouth shut and continued eating the cake.

Seth comforted his sister. “It’s okay, sis, I know many autotune specialists. Just let me know if you ever want to record an album, I’ll recommend a few to you.”

Sage shot two white feathered bows in Seth’s direction. “Seth, why are you joining them?”

Seth laughed uncontrollably. Kane gobbled down Sage’s cooking and responded without looking up, “I think Sage’s singing is not as bad as what you guys think.”

Luther replied, “Stop being a goody two shoes, brother. I saw you stuffing cotton into your ears earlier when Sage was about to start singing.” Kane answered as he looked up, “No, I wore earplugs.”

Sage was dumbfounded.

Her mischievous brothers had always loved making her perform on the stage. As silly as she was, Sage thought she brought happiness to them while they laughed as her strict dad and eldest brother would smile along too.

Sage thought she did well and wanted to enter the music industry until her parents stopped her from doing so. ‘My dear daughter, please have mercy on others.’ When Sage grew up, she realized she was born tone-deaf, and her limbs lacked coordination. She would have starved as an artist.

Sage rarely sang after that. She only sang to make her brothers laugh. “I made strawberry panna cotta, Let me get that now.” Jim was busy cleaning in the kitchen and he smiled at Sage as she walked into the kitchen. Sage smiled back at him but her smile quickly disappeared when she saw a familiar figure walking in through the backdoor.

Sage froze

Jace had a porcelain vase in his hands while donning a chef’s uniform. As his eyes met with Sage’s, he stood frozen.

Sage looked down instantly as she met his eyes.

Jace could not see her clearly from the outside, but he could tell from far that she had her hair up and she wore a red dress.

Little did he know she had a full-on costume. The mermaid dress showed off her perfect hourglass figure, and the purple hairpin complemented her gorgeous facial features. Sage looked like a princess.

She had a gold smiley-face necklace on her neck but it did not look out of place at all.

Jace felt as if something was stuck in his throat.

“Your neck…”

Before Sage could say anything, Jace stuffed the pink velvet box in her hands. 1 She looked up half- heartedly as Jace said to her, “Happy birthday, Sage.”
