Chapter 280
Chapter 280
Chapter 280 It was late by the time she reached Rosa Garden. The lights were kept bright outside, almost as though someone was waiting for her to come home.
There were two cars parked on the front porch. Other than the car Sage got Leah for her graduation, there was another car Sage could not recognize.
She thought they had guests, but when she walked in, to her sight was both Yeva and Leah seated on the couch. Yeva lay casually on the couch as if she was still in her own home.
Yeva picked up a piece of fruit with a fork into her mouth and complained, “It’s so troublesome getting married! I can’t eat anything.” Leah was clearly disinterested in her wedding stories. She kept yawning, and she was alerted once she saw Şage come in. “Welcome home!” Leah stood up and walked over to Sage. Sage hadn’t seen Leah for days and she was happy to see her too. Sage pinched Leah’s chin and said, “You’re finally back? I thought you’d end up staying at Ada’s home forever.”
“Heehee, of course not,” Leah held onto Sage’s arms and said softly, “I was busy making you a birthday present, and I finally completed it today!”
“Ah, that’s what you were doing for the past few days. No wonder you kept it a secret from me. “Sage was moved yet she sighed, “You didn’t have to do anything special, I’ll be happy with just a birthday wish.” Yeva’s voice was heard before Leah could answer, “Yeah, it’s just her twenty-fifth birthday. Why are you guys so adamant about celebrating it.”
Yeva was not satisfied with Leah’s double standards, “Leah, please get your priorities straight, my wedding takes priority over her birthday! I’m only getting married once in my life!”
She sat up and stuffed grapes into her mouth as she spoke, “Don’t forget my wedding gift. Leah, you’re going to be my bridesmaid, I even prepared your dress.”
Yeva came home with two purposes today, one, to remind them of her wedding gift, and two, to get Leah to agree to be her bridesmaid. Leah rejected instantly, “No thanks, I don’t want to be your bridesmaid.”
“Why not?” Yeva frowned and her facial expression was displeased, “What’s so bad about being my bridesmaid? You could learn something from the experience, you might be getting married in a few years anyways.”
Leah was persistent, “I’m not going.” Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.
“Hey, listen to me…” Yeva placed her arms around her own waist. She wanted to drag Leah nearer but she was hiding behind Sage. She dare not move nearer, and said, “You have to come
even if you don’t want to!” “Sage.” Leah looked at her big sister. Sage looked at Yeva and said, “Don’t you understand? She said she doesn’t want to go. Leah
doesn’t want to be your bridesmaid!”
Leah nodded vigorously behind Sage’s back.
Yeva was fuming with anger looking at the both of them.
“You… do you know how many people fought to be my bridesmaid? I left you a seat on purpose because you’re my cousin. Why can’t you just be grateful about that?” Yeva looked like she was about to implode.
Sage and Leah both looked at her and laughed.
“What are you two laughing about?!”
Yeva felt greatly humiliated, “Okay, are you two ganging up on me? Leah, did you forget who brought you over to Rosa Garden?”
